The Webster University student newspaper, the Webster Journal, chose to cover a wide range of topics related to gun violence in St. Louis in the Spring of 2018. The Journal staff followed a dozen cases of gun violence from Jan. 29 to Feb. 3, finally narrowing them down to five cases resulting in death (click here to see the timeline).

In 2017, an FBI crime report listed St. Louis as the second most violent city in the United States. With this project, the Journal wanted to look into the causes for the high rate of gun crime and explore some of the ways St. Louis citizens and organizations were combatting the gun violence epidemic.
